Abilene Man Charged After Leaving Infant Alone in Hotel Room
An Abilene man has been indicted for child endangerment after he left an infant alone in a hotel room.
Elijiah Dunson is accused of leaving an infant alone in a north Abilene hotel room while he went to purchase marijuana has been indicted.
Dunson was later arrested on a marijuana possession charge, but investigators say he never informed officers that the infant had been left alone in the room.
Documents state it was not until Dunson was being transported to jail that the child’s mother contacted police and told them he had been responsible for watching the infant.
Officers found the infant in the room laying down on the bed.
He was booked into the Taylor County Jail and charged with abandoning and endangering a child and for possession of marijuana.
He was released on $31,000 bond, but has since been indicted.
